Pollock

The movie was talking about an artist whose name was Jackson Pollock. It was talking about the life and career of the American painter Jackson Pollock. Pollock was a great painter who had a miserable life. He made everyone around him miserable too most of the time. The bad thing about him is that he was alcoholic. The way was so bad. He died in a car accident when he was drunk which killed an innocent woman. before he died and after he quite drinking he was happy.

On Loop tour I saw a lot of public art works. All of them were great and beautifully designed. The city of Chicago has a lot of awesome art works. Just by walking around the downtown, people can experience a large amount of art works such as, the Cloud Gate, Crown fountain, Agora, Fountain of time, The Picasso, Midway airport.

About the artist: Yinka Shonibare MBE


The artist I picked was called Yinka Shonibare who was born in 1962 in London, England. He grow up in Lagos. He attended Byam shaw school of art in London. Yinka Shonibare was knowns for using batik in clothes to explore race. Yinka Shonibare also worked on painting, sculpture, photography, and film. Even though he was a disable, he was a great artist. His art work described some cultures.
One of his famous art work was called "Swing".

Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago

 David's Bowie exhibit!

            On our tour we visited the Museum of Contemporary Art. We had the opportunity to experience David's Bowie exhibit. For those who don't know about the artist, he is a great painter. Also, he was a singer too. In the exhibition they were offering headphones so people can listen to the artist singing and talk while walking around the exhibition. The artist's way of dressing was a little bit weird.

On this project we went to Depaul Museum with my group. The museum belongs to Depaul University. 

The museum has two floors and its free to enter. When we got to the museum it was almost empty except two visitors. In that day there was an exhibit called "The Justice Chair". As you can see there are some strips under the chair and they are made of X-ray films, and it shows the names of the people who were held there in the 2012.

Reflect on Art Institute Visit

       


         The Art Institute Of Chicago Museum is considered as one of the most popular museums in the nation. It has a lot of great art works. Most of the artwork are created by famous artists. Before I went to the museum, I didn't know that it has all those well-known works. In this trip I have experienced a lot of awesome things. In my opinion I think The Art institute of Chicago is one of the best places I have ever been to. However, they cost $12 which is not acceptable because it should be free for students. The benefit behind this trip was to explore all the well-known works, to understand their meaning, and to be familiar with all the awesome works. The paintings that attracted me the most are "A Sunday on La Grande Jatte" and "Bacchus Consoling Ariadne". It was a pleasure for me to see all the great works at the Art Institute Of Chicago Museum. I really enjoyed it.

          My partner and I have presented this painting and it is called "Nude with a Pitcher". It was created by Pablo Picasso in France, summer 1906.

This work was one of the best things that I have seen in the exhibitions. It shows the Chicago 312 beer. What is funny is that when I first seen this I wished to had one of these beers and to walk around the place while drinking.

In our last class we went to the Cultural Center which was great building from out and inside. We experienced a lot of are exhibitions. There was three sections for the Michigan Ave Galleries the first one was by someone called Patricia Rieger, which was a great exhibition. I really enjoyed it. Also Cold son was awesome too and had many good stuff.

Another great work that shows couple of bottles and other unique stuff.

Water taxi

          In this class we had the opportunity to experience the water taxi. It was so much fun and we learned a lot about the Chicago architectures. The city has an awesome view from the lake especially when the sun is up in the sky. The way Architects have built the city of Chicago is unbelievable, because every building in the city looks great and awesome. Every building is unique. I really enjoyed the tour, because it was with an awesome classmates and a great teacher.

The Mona Lisa

Mona Lisa is probably the most popular and talked about art piece in the world. It was painted by Leonardo Da Vinci, who is the most celebrated painter. it has been a matter of interest of many people. it is still an unresolved mystery. What I really liked about the Mona Lisa is that the enigmatic facial expression of the woman is still an unresolved mystery.

                This architectural is my favorite one. it's called Faisaliah tower which is located in the capital city of Saudi Arabia. what makes it special to me is because of the lightning that the building has and the way it built. It has a big restaurant in the highest floor which designed to look like a big circle. Also, the lightning keeps  changing every few hours. The building was designed by British architect who named Norman Foster and the tower was built in 2000 by the Bin Laden construction company.

           My favorite building is called the Trump tower. It is an awesome skyscraper and that’s why I chose it.     For those who don’t know about the tower, it is known as Trump Tower Chicago and Trump tower. It is a skyscraper condo hotel which is located in downtown Chicago, IL.  The tower was designed by architect Adrian smith. The tower reached a height of 1,389 feet including the spire. It is near to the main branch of the Chicago River. It has an awesome view of the entry to Lake Michigan beyond a series of bridges over the river. One of the reasons why I liked this tower is because the tower reflects the color of the lake and it is beautifully designed.
